Final Results
MILLERSVILLE, PA – Four singles matches went 6-0, 6-0 and five different Crimson Hawks won two apiece as IUP cruised to an easy 9-0 win over Kutztown in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover matchup on Friday afternoon in Millersville.
In doubles action,
Tanya Timko (Cannonsburg, PA/Chartiers-Houston) and
Emilia Osborne (Leighton Buzzard, United Kingdom/Cedars ) got it kicked off with an 8-0 win at number two over Rachel Grula and Chelsea White.
Tabtip Louhabanjong (Krabi, Thailand/West Anchorage (AK)) and
Katie Eaton (Halesowen, United Kingdom/Haybridge) then followed with an 8-5 win over Hannah Pipkin and Tori Zander at first singles, while
Erika Schnaas (Mexico City, Mexico/Escuela Nacional Preparatoria ) and
Abby McCormick (Bethel Park, Pa. /Bethel Park) rallied from 5-1 down for an 8-6 victory at number three.
On the singles side, the first win came at number six with Schnaas getting the shutout win over Nancilee Romano. Eaton then blanked Zander at third singles before McCormick beat Cindy Good by shutout at number five.
Although not a shutout,
Ranvita Mahto (Burlington, ON/Robert Bateman) still had an easy time at fourth singles with White, winning 6-0, 6-1. Timko then got a 6-2, 6-3 win over Grula at number two while Louhabanjong got the win at number one, 6-0, 6-0.
The Crimson Hawks (2-0) stay in Millersville overnight, and will face the Marauders on Saturday morning.
