IUP clinched a home match in the opening round of the PSAC playoffs with a 9-0 victory over Clarion in its regular season finale.

The Crimson Hawks take a seven-match winning streak and 17-5 record into their first round match Monday against Slippery Rock. IUP, Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst all finished 2-2 in the PSAC West, but the Crimson Hawks and the Rock won the tiebreakers to earn the second and third seeds in the division.

The match will be at IUP on the strength of a 6-3 win over Slippery Rock last week. California is the top seed in the West and has an opening round bye. In the PSAC East, Bloomsburg has a bye and West Chester meets East Stroudsburg in the first round.

The PSAC Final Four takes place April 21-22 at Bloomsburg, with the winner of the IUP-Slippery Rock match playing the host Huskies. The West Chester-East Stroudsburg winner will face California.

IUP is also in contention to host one of the two NCAA Atlantic Regional tournaments May 1-3 on the strength of climbing up to No. 3 in the latest regional rankings. IUP has never hosted an NCAA regional tennis tournament.
