Kailtyn Kaminski and the IUP defense were oustanding Saturday
Box Score

INDIANA, PA - Despite a marvelous performance from the Crimson Hawks defense, the IUP women's soccer team fell to Gannon 1-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action Saturday.

IUP outshot the Golden Knights 11-5 in the game, but a penalty kick from Mani Brueckner in the 57th minute was more than enough to secure the win for Gannon.

The game was defined by stellar defense and chippy play from both sides, as five cards were dealt by the officials in the second half.

The Crimson Hawks dominated possession in the second half, but were unable to solve Gannon goalkeeper Maggie Brinkman, who tallied eight saves in 90 minutes of action. Mara Hricik (Moon Twp./Moon) played the entire game in the net for IUP and had one save.

IUP falls to 7-4-2, 4-4-1 in the PSAC with the loss, while Gannon improves to 9-2-1, 6-2-1 in the conference. The Crimson Hawks are back in action this Tuesday against Mansfield. Game time at South Campus Field is set for 4:00 p.m.
