Both teams would trade points before IUP broke a 21-21 tie, scoring four of the last five points to take the set 25-21.
The Crimson Hawks again got out to a lead in the second set, going on top 7-3. They'd keep Kutztown at bay, widening their lead to 13-7 and later took a 21-13 lead. Kutztown started to make a late comeback, going on a 6-2 run before a kill by
Aubree Frye (Indiana/Indiana) ended the rally and gave IUP a 25-18 win.

IUP fought back, getting back-to-back points before going on a 7-1 run to narrow the gap to 17-15. They'd later capitalize on Kutztown errors to take a 22-20 lead and after a Golden Bear point, went back on top by two with a kill by
Lisa Kissell (Greensburg, Pa. /Greensburg Salem).
The Golden Bears scored two straight points to tie it at 23-23 but an error and a Hester kill helped give IUP a 25-24 advantage. Kutztown would close out the match, however, winning three straight points to take the match 27-25.
Kutztown used that momentum to take a 4-2 lead in the fourth set. But the Crimson Hawks rallied right back to score five straight points as a part of an 8-1 run, capped off with an ace by Frye, as Kutztown took a timeout down 10-5.
IUP kept the pressure on coming out of the timeout, scoring four of five points and later five of six to take a commanding 20-10 lead. Kutztown closed the gap with the help of a 4-0 run, but IUP held off the rally and a kill by
