INDIANA, PA - Brittney Kuhns (Middleburg, Pa. /Midd-West) had two goals and an assist as the Crimson Hawks had their first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)  win this afternoon at home when they defeated Lock Haven 6-1.

Kelsey Fisher (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) struck first for the Hawks off a nice pass from Kuhns in front of the net at the 12:36 mark, then 10 minutes later Fisher returned the favor passing the ball to Kuhns. Then at the 25:00 minute mark Kuhns slipped past goalie Dana Wozniak and took a pass from Alex Tierney (Lusby, MD/Patuxent), giving IUP a solid lead of 3-0 as they went into half-time.

Tonya Fabian (Pittsburgh/Thomas Jefferson) wasted no time scoring for the Hawks in the early minutes of the second half, and it wasn't long until Michelle Grozinsky (Waldorf, MD/North Point) saw Fabian down field to put IUP up 5-0. The Bald Eagles weren't ready to give up yet, as Madeline Novak found the back right corner against Mara Hricik (Moon Twp./Moon) to finally put Lock Haven on the board. IUP wasn't done, however, as Tori Pikur (Gibsonia/Pine-Richland) secured the victory for the Hawks with a final goal at 77:39 to make it a five goal advantage.

The Hawks outshot the Bald Eagles 21-8, with most of IUP's shots coming in the first half of play. The Crimson Hawks also dominated all field action, keeping the ball in Lock Haven territory for most of the game. Hricik played for the majority of the game and notched four saves in the net, and Ashley Schoellkopf who played in net for the Hawks in the last 16 minutes of play had one save.

The Crimson Hawks (4-3-2, 1-3-1) continue their homestand at South Campus Field when they take on East Stroudsburg Friday at 4:00 p.m.
