AT A GLANCE
The Crimson Hawks will restart their PSAC West schedule on Wednesday as they travel to California to face the rival Vulcans in the Convocation Center. The matchup features two teams in a tie for third in the Western Division, both coming off losses to East teams on Saturday. IUP is 2-3 in its last 5 games while the Vulcans are 4-1.

LAST TIME OUT
IUP split its PSAC crossover road games last weekend, defeating Shippensburg 74-71 before losing to Millersville 60-53. Sr. F Sarah Pastorek (Johnstown/Bishop McCort) combined for 36 points in the two nights, including a 20-point effort in the win over the Raiders. So. G Amy Fairman (Creekside, Pa. /Marion Center) continued her hot streak by averaging 12.5 points and 7 rebounds during the weekend while Jr. G Talen Watson (Odenton, MD/Arundel) came off the bench to score 15 points against Shippensburg.

CLIMBING THE LADDER
One of the most dominant players in IUP history, Sr. F Sarah Pastorek (Johnstown/Bishop McCort) sits in 14th place on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,187 points. Currently on pace to break into the top five this year, Pastorek is 5 points away from passing Jodi Frederick (1996-01) for 13th on the list. She's also 6th in FTs made (303), 12th in rebounds (588) and t-14th in FGs made (440).

OFF THE BENCH
Providing depth off the bench this season has been Jr. G Talen Watson (Odenton, MD/Arundel), who's 3rd on the team with 8.9 ppg. Reaching double-figures in scoring 5 times this year she came off the bench to net 15 in the win over Shippensburg on Friday, also scoring 12 against Mansfield and 11 against Bloomsburg.

PLAYING DEFENSE
The Crimson Hawks own one of the best defenses in the conference, holding opponents to a PSAC-best 53.7 ppg. Seven times IUP has limited teams to less than 50 points, including a season-low 24 by Ursuline. So. G's Amy Fairman (Creekside, Pa. /Marion Center) (33 steals) and Marita Mathe (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) (28) help lead the way.

NCAA RANKINGS
The Crimson Hawks remain ranked 23rd in the USA TODAY Sports Top 25 poll, dropping seven spots after splitting their PSAC crossover games this weekend. This is the seventh straight week that IUP shows up in the poll.

THE HEAD COACH
Jeff Dow (Oregon, '88) is in his fifth season as the head coach at IUP, leading the Crimson Hawks to a pair of NCAA tournaments (2009, 2012) and a PSAC championship during a 26-6 debut season in 2008-09. Earlier this season, Dow eclipsed 200 wins in his head coaching career and has a record of 208-100, including a 96-35 mark at IUP.
