The Crimson Hawks return home this weekend as they host Mercyhurst in the PSAC West matchup at the KCAC on Saturday night. IUP is coming off a tough loss at Edinboro and is sitting in 3rd in the division with an 8-4 PSAC record while the Lakers 5-7 conference mark is tied for 5th in the West.

Melanie Todd (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) notched career-highs with 17 and 13 points, respectively, while Sr. F
Sarah Pastorek (Johnstown/Bishop McCort) added 14 points. Fairman also had 6 rebounds and five steals and went 7-7 from the foul line.
CLIMBING THE LADDER

Sarah Pastorek (Johnstown/Bishop McCort) sits in 10th place on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,233 points. Currently on pace to break into the top five this year, Pastorek is 33 points away from passing Julie Kibler (1979-83) for 9th on the list. She's also 5th in FTs made (319), 11th in rebounds (609) and tied for 13th in FGs made (455).
THE CHARITY STRIPE
Pastorek is one of the top free throw shooters in the PSAC, ranking 5th with an 81.6 FT% (93-114) this season. By far her best year from the foul line, at her current pace has the potential to break IUP records for FTs made (164) and FTs attempted (246) in a season. For her career she's 319-427 from the line, a 74.7 pct. good for 10th in school history.
POINTS ON THE BOARD

Amy Fairman (Creekside, Pa. /Marion Center) hasn't been a go-to scorer for the Crimson Hawks during her time on campus. However, over the past 7 games Fairman has shown the ability to be a top scorer for IUP, averaging 12.7 points with a 50.9 FG% (26-51) and a 45.0 3FG% (9-20). She's also kept up with her all-around game during that time, adding 5.7 boards, 2.8 assists and 2.7 steals per contest.
NCAA RANKINGS
The Crimson Hawks moved up to No. 19 in the USA TODAY Sports Top 25 poll, a four-spot improvement from last week after a pair of wins over California and Clarion. This is the eighth straight week that IUP appears in the poll.
THE HEAD COACH
Jeff Dow (Oregon, '88) is in his fifth season as the head coach at IUP, leading the Crimson Hawks to a pair of NCAA tournaments (2009, 2012) and a PSAC championship during a 26-6 debut season in 2008-09. Earlier this season, Dow eclipsed 200 wins in his head coaching career and has a record of 210-101, including a 98-36 mark at IUP.
