Men’s Swimming Sinks Shippensburg in Dual Meet Action

SHIPPENSBURG, PA – The IUP men's swimming team won 13 of the 14 events as the Crimson Hawks defeated Shippensburg 165-91 in dual meet action on Saturday afternoon.

Three different Crimson Hawks were victorious in two events apiece, including Zack Fountain in the 100 and 200 breaststroke; Chris Strauss (Allentown/Parkland) in the 200 and 500 freestyle; and Steve Long (Greensburg/Hempfield) in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly.

Also winning for the Crimson Hawks was Brandon Hopkins (Marion, VA/Marion) in the 1000 freestyle; Paul Singerman (Apollo/Kiski) in the 100 backstroke; Matthew Nakagama in the 200 butterfly; Andrew Richey (Warminster/William Tennent) in the 100 freestyle; Conrad Kubaney (Erie/Mercyhurst Prep) in the 200 backstroke and Jake Dunnigan in the 400 IM.

The men's 200 medley relay team also took home a victory.

The Crimson Hawks are back in action on Nov. 21-23 when they host the three-day Pidgeon Invitational.
