AT A GLANCE
In a game that will help determine the 2nd seed in the PSAC West, the Crimson Hawks host Edinboro on Wednesday night at the KCAC. It's a narrow margin separating these two teams as the Fighting Scots conference record of 15-4 is just one game better than IUP's 14-5. The Crimson Hawks are winners of 3 straight and 6 of their last 7 while Edinboro has lost 2 of its last 5 games.

LAST TIME OUT
So. G Amy Fairman (Creekside, Pa. /Marion Center) and So. G Marita Mathe (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) each scored a game-high 21 points as IUP outlasted Mercyhurst 72-64 on the road Wednesday afternoon. The two shot a combined
15-28 fromthe floor and 8-9 from the foul line as the Crimson Hawks turned away a late Lakers run with layups by Mathe and So. G Lindsay Stamp (Erie, Pa. /Mercyhurst Prep) to seal a win.

FIRST MEETING
The Crimson Hawks overcame a 21-point 2nd half deficit to cut Edinboro's lead to 4 with 2:50 remaining but couldn't complete the comeback as the Fighting Scots came away with a 73-62 win. Fairman and Jr. F Melanie Todd (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) set new career-highs with 17 and 13 points respectively, while Fairman added 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Sr. F Sarah Pastorek (Johnstown/Bishop McCort) had 14 points.

WELCOME BACK
In her first start after missing 2 games due to injury, Fairman stepped up in a huge way with a career-high 21 points against Mercyhurst on Saturday. Fairman shot 8-12 from the field and 4-5 from the foul line, adding 4 rebounds and 2 steals in 30 minutes. Her first game back was Wednesday againt Cal, going for 2 points and 5 rebounds off the bench.

HITTING HER STRIDE
Playing increased minutes over the past 4 games, Mathe is also putting more of the scoring load on her shoulders by averaging 16.5 points over that span. Going for 39.0 mpg over the last 4 contest, Mathe has hit 13 3's, has a 78.6 FT% (11-14), and has 4 double-figure scoring games.  

TOP FRESHMAN
Fr. F Zhané Brooks has been important in IUP's last 7 games, averaging 8.6 ppg and 4.7 games as the Crimson Hawks have gone 6-1. Seeing increased playing time during that span (21.7 mpg) she has a 55.6 FG% (20-36) and scored a season-high 20 points against Lock Haven.

HITTING THE “3”
The Crimson Hawks are one of the best three-point shooting teams in the PSAC, converting at a 33.9 pct (140-413) clip through 25 games. With 5.6 made per game, they're on pace to threaten the school's all-time mark 3's in a season of 184 in 2004-05. 

THE HEAD COACH
Jeff Dow (Oregon, '88) is in his fifth season as the head coach at IUP, leading the Crimson Hawks to a pair of NCAA tournaments (2009, 2012) and a PSAC championship during a 26-6 debut season in 2008-09. Last Wednesday Dow eclipsed 100 wins in his IUP head coaching career (104-37) and has an overall record of 216-102.
