The Crimson Hawks advance to the quarterfinals of the PSAC tournament as they travel to face 2nd seeded Edinboro at the McComb Fieldhouse on Tuesday. 3rd seeded IUP is coming off of a 62-56 win over Mercyhurst in the opening round while the Fighting Scots received a first round bye last Saturday.

Sarah Pastorek (Johnstown/Bishop McCort) each posted double-doubles as IUP rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat Mercyhurst 62-56 on Saturday night. The Lakers led by as many as 7 in the first half but Stamp's performance (20 points, 14 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 blocks and 3 assists) led the Crimson Hawks back. Pastorek finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Fighting Scots hold a 43-34 all-time lead in the series, including a regular season sweep this year and have won five straight over the last two years. The Crimson Hawks own a 2-1 record over Edinboro al-time in the PSAC tournament. This will be the 6th time, and second season in a row, that IUP and Edinboro have played three times in one year.
GO-TO SCORER
Stamp has asserted herself as the top scorer for IUP as of late, averaging 18.3 points in the Crimson Hawks last four games. 3rd on the team in scoring this season, since becoming a starter on Jan. 26 she's upped her average from 6.9 ppg to 10.3 ppg, scoring 15.5 in her 11 games in the starting lineup. She's also averaging 6.3 rpg and 2.2 apg with 25 steals during that span.
THE SENIOR
The true leader of the team, Pastorek returns to the postseason for the 4th time in her career. In 5 career PSAC postseason games, she's averaging 13.2 ppg, 7.4 rpg and 2.4 apg and has gone 20-25 (80.0 pct) from the foul line. Pastorek is 9th all-time in IUP history with 1,269 career points - 9 shy of Sherri Leysock for 8th - 9th with 627 career rebounds and 4th with 323 FTs made.
REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Crimson Hawks remained at No. 4 in last week's Atlantic Regional rankings released on Wednesday. Gannon sits atop the list with Edinboro in 2nd and Glenville State in 3rd. California is 5th while Millersville (6th), Shaw (7th) and Blomsburg (8th) round out the top 8 schools so far.
THE HEAD COACH
Jeff Dow (Oregon, '88) is in his fifth season as the head coach at IUP, leading the Crimson Hawks to a pair of NCAA tournaments (2009, 2012) and a PSAC tournament appearance in each year at the helm. He guided IUP to a conference championship during a 26-6 debut season in 2008-09 and has a postseason record of 7-5 (5-3 PSAC, 2-2 NCAA) in his four previous appearances with the Crimson Hawks.
