SHIPPENSBURG, PA - IUP fought hard against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) foe Shippensburg, but were unable to come away with a victory in a 1-0 road loss on Wednesday afternoon.

The Crimson Hawks outshot the Raiders 8-2, with four shots coming off the foot of Tonya Fabian (Pittsburgh/Thomas Jefferson).

It was yet another defensive battle for the Crimson Hawks at Shippensburg. IUP put together good offensive drives early on in the game, and had the first four shots of the match. The Raiders only shot-on-goal came in the 35th minute on a goal by Shippensburg's Casey Rightmeyer. The score was assisted by Kate Zech.

IUP continued to put together drives in the end of the first half with Fabian and Tori Pickur putting up shots, but Shippensburg goalkeeper Shelbie Rackley was able to come away with a save on both.

In the second half, IUP continued to find ways to line up shots, but Rackley was able to fend off all three shots that she saw. Rackley had another strong game for the Raiders, who now sit with a record of 4-1 after defending their home turf against the Crimson Hawks.

This loss was the first on the road for the Crimson Hawks as they now hold an overall record of 4-2 (3-2 PSAC) while Shippensburg improves to 4-1. The Crimson Hawks will head home to take on Millersville on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 pm at South Campus Field.
