Box Score

INDIANA, PA- The IUP women's soccer team took on the Marauders of Millersville in a rainy, defensive battle but they weren't able to pull off a win. Millersville scored the only goal of the game in overtime to win 1-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.

It was another strong performance by the Crimson Hawks' defense, outshooting the Marauders 14-3. Several chances by Millersville were turned away as the Marauders were unable to get very many looks. The IUP offense was balanced throughout game, getting seven of the 14 shots off during the second half of action, but Millersville goalie Olivia Webber came up with seven saves in the net. Corner kicks have been a strong point for IUP this season, but they weren't able to capitalize on any of their eight opportunities they had from the corner in today's matchup.

Millersville didn't play very strong on offense, with IUP holding the ball for a majority of the game, but a single shot in overtime was all they needed to pull off the win. IUP's Michelle Grozinsky (Waldorf, MD/North Point) put a shot on goal in overtime in the 93rd minute, but Webber was able to come away with the save. Just 31 seconds later, Millersville's Felicia Cramer shot from the lower left corner and found the net.

The tough loss for IUP was its second in a row and the Crimson Hawks now sit with a record of 4-3 (3-3 PSAC). The Crimson Hawks will travel to Mansfield to take on the Mountainers on September 27. The next home game for IUP won't take place until October 5 against East Stroudsburg.
