AT A GLANCE
The Crimson Hawks ring in the new year with a pair of road PSAC crossover games this weekend, starting with Mansfield on Friday afternoon. IUP finished up 2013 with three straight victories, all over PSAC East teams, and carry an overall record of 9-1 into this weekend. Mansfield is winless in its 11 games this year, including three losses to PSAC West teams. The Mountaineers are 0-5 at home.

THE SERIES
IUP has lost just once against Mansfield, carrying a 13-1 record all-time. The Crimson Hawks have won six straight, with their last loss in the series being a 71-63 setback at Mansfield during the 2003-04 season.

BENCH PLAY
IUP gets 17.3 ppg from its bench - 24.7 pct. of its overall scoring. Five times the Crimson Hawks have scored at least 20 points, including 26 at Kutztown. This group regularly features four players, and has seen as many nine. Jr. G Leslie Stapleton (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) has scored a combined 42 points off the bench in her last three games, including a career-high 21 against the Golden Bears. 

DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE
The main strength of the Crimson Hawks this season is their defense. They give up just 53.7 ppg - tops in the PSAC and 7th-best in Division II - forcing opponents to 53 or fewer points in seven of their 10 games. In IUP's five road games this season, the Crimson Hawks are giving up an average of 55.0 points per contest and just 53.7 points in their three games against PSAC East opponents.

SUCCESS AT THE CHARITY STRIPE
After going just 8-17 (47.1 pct.) from the free throw line against Millersville, the Crimson Hawks have gone a combined 26-29 (89.7) against Shippensburg and Kutztown. Leading the way during those two games were Stapleton, Watson and Jr. F Ashley Stoner (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Thomas Jefferson), who combined to make all 19 of their shots.

STEPPING IN
Sr. G Talen Watson (Odenton, MD/Arundel) has stepped into the starting lineup for injured Jr. G Marita Mathe (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) over the last four games. During that span, Watson is IUP's 3rd leading scoring with 11.3 ppg, including a season-high 15 at Kutztown. She also has 14 assists and is shooting 50.0 pct. (5-10) from three-point range.

TOP SCORER
Jr. G Lindsay Stamp (Erie, Pa. /Mercyhurst Prep) leads the PSAC and is 9th in Division II with 20.2 ppg this year. Her 50.0 FG% (77-154) is 8th in the conference while her 41.5 3FG% (22-53) ranks 5th. She has scored 20 points in seven of her 10 games and a total of 12 times in her career. In her 24 games as a starter for the Crimson Hawks, Stamp is averaging 17.8 ppg. 


SCOUTING MANSFIELD
The winless Mountaineers have lost 14 straight games, including an 0-11 record this season, and have not won since Feb. 16, 2013. Five of their defeats this year been by 9 points or fewer, including an 84-75 loss to 8-3 West Chester. So. G Katie Fitzpatrick leads Mansfield in scoring (13.7 ppg), rebounding (8.2 rpg) and assists (4.3) and has three double-doubles this season. Sr. F Jena Matter is a career double-figure scorer and averages 13.5 ppg and 7.3 rpg, both second on the team.
