AT A GLANCE

The Crimson Hawks continue their PSAC crossover weekend as they head over to Lock Haven to face the Bald Eagles on Saturday afternoon. IUP ran its record to 10-1 on the year as it began the weekend with a 78-63 win over Mansfield on Friday. Lock Haven also picked up a win yesterday with a 70-58 defeat of Pitt-Johnstown at home. It was just the second win on the season for the Bald Eagles, who enter today's matchup with a 2-9 overall record.

THE SERIES

IUP owns the all-time series with Lock Haven with a head-to-head record of 43-30.

BENCH PLAY

IUP gets 17.8 ppg from its bench - 24.96 pct. of its overall scoring. Six times the Crimson Hawks have scored at least 20 points, including 23 yesterday at Mansfield. This group regularly features four players, and has seen as many nine. Jr. G Leslie Stapleton (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) is averaging 12.5 points in her four games off the bench and notched a career-high 21 against Kutztown.

DEFENSIVE DOMINANCE

The main strength of the Crimson Hawks this season is their defense. They give up just 54.5 ppg - tops in the PSAC and 7th-best in Division II - forcing opponents to 53 or fewer points in seven of their 11 games. In IUP's five road games this season, the Crimson Hawks are giving up an average of 56.3 points per contest and just 56.0 points in their four games against PSAC East opponents.

SUCCESS AT THE CHARITY STRIPE

The Crimson Hawks have continued their recent success at the foul line, going 19-26 at Mansfield. They have now gone a combined 45-55 (81.8 pct.) in the last three games combined after shooting just 8-17 on Dec. 17 against Millersville. Leading the way during that span has been Stapleton, Jr. G Talen Watson (Odenton, MD/Arundel) and Jr. F Ashley Stoner (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Thomas Jefferson), who have combined to go 23-25 from the line.

STANDING TALL

So. G Marina Wareham (New Wilmington, Pa. /Kennedy Catholic) notched her first double-figure scoring game of the season with 10 points at Mansfield on Friday. Over the past three games, Wareham is averaging 6.0 ppg and 3.0 apg while shooting 5-9 (55.6 pct.) from the floor and 3-6 from three-point range. She also has just 2 turnovers in 51 minutes of play.

TOP SCORER

Jr. G Lindsay Stamp (Erie, Pa. /Mercyhurst Prep) racked up her eighth 20-point contest of the season at Mansfield with a game-high 23 points, increasing her PSAC scoring lead to 20.5 ppg. Her 49.1 FG% (84-171) is 9th in the conference while her 43.5 3FG% (27-62) ranks 3rd. She has scored 20 points a total of 13 times in her career, including 11 with IUP. In her 25 games as a starter for the Crimson Hawks, Stamp is averaging 18.0 ppg.

SCOUTING LOCK HAVEN

The Bald Eagles enter today's matchup after winning their second game of the season on Friday, a 70-58 decision over UPJ. Prior to that, Lock Haven had lost eight consecutive games, including five games by six points or less. The constant for the Bald Eagles this year has been Jr. F Marrysa Moyer, who could be the top scoring and rebounding combo threat in the PSAC. Her 17.4 ppg is 6th in the conference while her 11.2 rpg is 2nd. Moyer has racked up seven double-doubles with highs of 25 points and 18 rebounds.
