INDIANA, PA – Lindsay Stamp (Erie, Pa. /Mercyhurst Prep) scored a game-high 28 points but poor shooting limited the 20th-ranked Crimson Hawks as IUP lost to Bloomsburg 74-62 in women's basketball action on Wednesday night at the Kovalchick Complex.

The Crimson Hawks connected on 20-of-61 shots from the field and 16-of-27 tries from the foul line in the loss. The 32.8 percent shooting was the worst output of the season for IUP, which falls to 11-2 overall on the season. Bloomsburg, the defending Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) champions, improve to 10-3.

Stamp connected on 9-of-26 from the field, including 3-of-10 from three-point range, and went 7-of-10 from the foul line. She did a majority of her damage in the second half, scoring 17 points. She added seven rebounds and four steals in 38 minutes of action.

IUP rallied to narrow its deficit to one before going into halftime down to the Huskies, 30-28. It was the first halftime deficit for the Crimson Hawks all season.

Stapleton hit five of IUP's first seven points in the second half to give the Crimson Hawks a 35-32 lead less than three minutes in before the Huskies rattled off eight straight to take a five point lead with 13:20 remaining.

IUP rallied to tie the score at 54-54 with 6:31 remaining but a subsequent 14-3 run from Bloomsburg over the next 4:29 would help close out the win for the Huskies.

The loss was the first for the Crimson Hawks at the Kovalchick Complex since a 57-45 setback to Edinboro on Feb. 20 of last season.

The Crimson Hawks look to rebound on Saturday when they get back to PSAC West play at Mercyhurst. Tipoff against the Lakers (3-10, 1-2) is set for 1 p.m.
