No. 15 Crimson Hawks Take Down Seton Hill on the Road

GREENSBURG, PA – 15th-ranked IUP shot 53 percent from the floor and forced 17 turnovers in an 82-64 win over Seton Hill in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at Slavitta Gymnasium.
 
The Crimson Hawks had four score in double figures, as they improved to 4-0 on the young season. Daddy Ugbede (San Mateo, Calif./Serra) led the team with 22 points in just 17 minutes off the bench while Shawn Dyer (Marion, Ohio/Marion Harding) scored 17 points.
 
Seton Hill held early leads as both teams shot well in the opening half. The Griffins held a 17-14 lead at the midway point before an 8-0 run by the Crimson Hawks, capped by a three by Dyer, gave IUP a 23-15 lead with just under eight minutes to go in the half.
 
IUP built its lead to as many as 11 points in the first half at 33-22 and ended up taking a 38-28 lead into the break after another three by Dyer just before the buzzer.
 
The Crimson Hawks increased their lead to 15 early in the second half, as Dyer did the work with yet another three and a pair of free throws. Seton Hill answered with a three of its own to cut the lead, but IUP would end up getting back to 15 at 52-37 on a layup by Daddy Ugbede (San Mateo, Calif./Serra) with 13:21 to go in the game.
 
Ugbede's 22 points were a new career-high, as he made 9-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. He scored 11 points in each half, including a 5-of-6 performance from the field in the second half.
 
An 11-3 run by the Crimson Hawks gave them a 63-43 lead with 9:08 to go, and IUP led by as many as 26 points, salting away another blowout victory.
 
Dyer scored his 17 on 5-of-10 field goal attempts, including 4-of-5 from three-point range. Brandon Norfleet (Virginia Beach, Va. /Landstown) was an efficient 6-of-8 from the field, scoring 12, while Devante Chance (Philadelphia, Pa. /Electrical & Technology Charter) added 11 points and eight assists.
 
Three players reached double-figures for Seton Hill, led by Noah Davis with 25.
 
The Crimson Hawks remain on the road for their next contest, a huge showdown with CIAA favorite Bowie State on Tuesday night.
