Women’s Volleyball Drops Four-Setter at Shepherd

Meghan Schneider (Lake Geneva, Wis. /Big Foot) had seven kills and seven blocks for a 
team-high 11.5 points on Tuesday night.


SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV – Meghan Schneider (Lake Geneva, Wis. /Big Foot) had seven kills and seven total blocks but IUP couldn't get the best of host Shepherd in a 3-1 regional women's volleyball matchup on Tuesday evening.
 
The Crimson Hawks took the opening set 25-17 before falling in each of the next three by scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-22.
 
Elizabeth Sova (Myerstown, Pa. /ELCO) had a team-high nine kills on the night with three blocks while Lauren Hester (State College, Pa. /State College) had six kills, 10 digs and four block assists. Lindsay Moeller (Troy, Mich./Troy) had all 28 assists for the Crimson Hawks.
 
IUP totaled 34 kills on the night but errored on 18 attacks and had a .126 hitting percentage.
 
In addition to Hester's 10, Joie Hrapla (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Bishop Canevin) had 19 digs while Moeller added nine.
 
The Crimson Hawks fall to 2-2 on the year while Shepherd improves to 3-1. IUP travels to Erie for the PSAC/WVIAC Crossover this weekend for matches against Notre Dame (OH), West Liberty and West Virginia State.
