LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The IUP women's volleyball team lost a pair of conference crossover matches on Saturday afternoon, falling to Lock Haven and Shippensburg by scores of 3-1 and 3-0, respectively.
The losses were the third and fourth of the weekend for the Crimson Hawks, as they fall to 13-9 overall and 6-7 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
Sophomore
Natalie Cignetti (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) led IUP with 25.0 points and 25 kills, averaging 4.17 kills per set. She had 19 against Lock Have in the day's first match and also totaled 18 digs on the afternoon.
Fellow sophomores
Alexis Anderson (Cleveland, Ohio/Mayfield) and
Gabrielle Egler (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Obama Academy) finished with 20 and 18 combined kills, respectively, and junior
Lily McWilliams (Rockville, Md./Thomas Sprigg Wootton) had 14. Senior
Meghan Schneider (Lake Geneva, Wis. /Big Foot) finished with eight kills and four block assists.
Junior
Lindsay Moeller (Troy, Mich./Troy) totaled 75 assists a day after she reached 2,000 for her career. She also added 21 digs. Freshman
Jess Marut (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) led the Crimson Hawks with 32 digs on the day.
IUP returns to the court on Tuesday with a home match against non-conference opponent West Liberty. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
