@IUP_WBBTHE GAME AT A GLANCEThe Crimson Hawks look to rebound from their first loss of the season as they head to North Carolina to face Chowan in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon. IUP heads into the matchup with a 3-1 overall record, including a 2-1 mark in the PSAC. IUP easily won home games over Mercyhurst and East Stroudsburg last week, before falling to 25th-ranked West Chester on Sunday. Chowan faced a pair of PSAC schools to open the season, beating Seton Hill before falling to Slippery Rock, and also defeated Shepherd last week.
CRIMSON HAWKS OFF TO ANOTHER FAST STARTWith the Crimson Hawks' 3-1 start to the season, IUP is off to the program's seventh start of at least three wins in its first four games. IUP got off to 4-0 starts in 2007-08 and 2008-09, and four straight seasons from 2011-15.
TOM McCONNELL'S 43 WINS TIED FOR BEST TWO-YEAR START AT IUPMcConnell had a 43-14 record in his first two seasons on the bench for the Crimson Hawks, highlighted by last year's 25-4 record. The 43 wins over his first two years is tied for the most of an coach in program history, joining Jeff Dow (2008-10) and Cindy Martin (2005-07). McConnell's .753 winning percentage in his first two years is better than both Martin (.705) and Dow (.729).
IUP IS GOING FOR SEVENTH STRAIGHT ROAD WINIUP is currently on a six-game road win streak dating back to the 2014-15 regular season. The Crimson Hawks' last road loss came on Jan. 10 of last season to eventual Division II national champion California (Pa.) by a score of 73-68. It was IUP's only road loss of the year.
LESLIE STAPLETON INCHING CLOSER TO 1,000-POINT MILESTONER-Sr. G
Leslie Stapleton (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) is coming off a big scoring week, averaging 19.3 points in three games to increase her season total to 75 and her career total to 900. She's looking to become the 21st player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone, including the third in the past two seasons.
STAPLETON IS ONE OF TOP THREE-POINT SHOOTERS IN PROGRAM HISTORYStapleton has a career .397 three-point percentage, which is currently first all-time in school history ahead of Lacey Claar's (2007-11) .395 percentage. Her 163 career three-pointers is fifth all-time, 52 shy of Claar's record of 215. Stapleton is six three-pointers away from tying former teammate

IUP LEADS THE PSAC IN SHOOTING PERCENTAGEThe Crimson Hawks are the top-shooting team in the conference, connecting on 45.0 percent of their shots in four games this season. IUP shot 49.2 percent in games against ESU and West Chester and has four players who have made at least half of their shots this year

THREE FRESHMEN OFF TO SUCCESSFUL STARTS TO THEIR CAREERSThe Crimson Hawks have three true freshmen who have seen valuable playing time early on, including Robinson, Hunter and Fr. G
Carolyn Appleby (Greensburg, Pa. /Greensburg Central Catholic). The trio averages a combined 37 minutes and 14.3 points per game.
IUP AGAIN DISHING IT OUT AT A HIGH FREQUENCYThe Crimson Hawks wrapped up last year third in the NCAA with 18.6 assists per game and set a program record for single season assists with 538. They're off to a good start dishing it out this year, leading the PSAC and ranking 19th in the country with 18.5 assists through four games. Sr. G
Marina Wareham (New Wilmington, Pa. /Kennedy Catholic) leads the team and ranks seventh in the league with 4.8 assists per game while Sr. F Zhané Brooks averages 3.5 per game.
