INDIANA, Pa. – IUP's
Tanya Timko (Cannonsburg, PA/Chartiers-Houston) broke the program records for career singles and combined victories as the Crimson Hawks cruised past Charleston 9-0 in Atlantic Region women's tennis action on Monday at the Maple Street Courts.
Timko first broke the combined wins record as she teamed with
Jarka Petercakova (Bratislava, Slovakia/Sport Gymnasium) for an 8-4 No. 1 doubles victory over Toni Katipa and Kelsey Hensley. That gave her 176 combined singles and doubles wins in her career.
She then put her name atop the singles victory list with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Katipa at the top spot, her 82nd career singles victory.
The senior passed two former teammates for the records – Emilia Osborne (combined) and
