Five IUP football players have been recognized by USA Football as preseason All-Americans. Two first team selections headline the five preseason All-Americans for the Crimson Hawks.
 
Linebacker Kevin Clarke (West Mifflin, Pa. /West Mifflin) was named to the first team after finishing 2014 with 117 tackles. Clarke, who was also 2014 All-PSAC West 1st Team selection, started every game last season. Karon Gibson (Sicklerville, N.J./Woodbury) was also named a first team preseason All-American. Gibson had 54 tackles and led the Crimson Hawks in sacks during his first year along the defensive line.
 
Also selected to the USA Football preseason All-American second team were RB Luigi Lista-Brinza (McKees Rocks, Pa. /Central Catholic) and OL Ethan Cooper (Steelton, Pa. /Central Dauphin East). Lista-Brinza had over 800 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in his freshman year, while Cooper started in every game during 2014.
 
Rounding out the honorees was third team selection Matt Mowad. Mowad finished second on the team in both tackles for loss (9.5) and sacks (4) in 2014.

USA Football has released this list for 26 consecutive years, recognizing the top four percent of the returning players (750) competing from nearly 170 Division II schools.

IUP will open up their season on September 12 against Kutztown University in the annual Hall of Fame Game. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. at Miller Stadium.
