INDIANA, Pa. – The Crimson Hawks dropped their first conference women's volleyball match of the season, as Mercyhurst outhit IUP .317 to .078 in a three-set victory on Friday night at the Memorial Field House.
Junior
Natalie Cignetti (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) had a team-high 10 kills as the Crimson Hawks fell to 13-3 overall and 4-1 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). Mercyhurst improved to 11-5 and 3-2.
The Lakers won by scores of 25-23, 25-17, and 25-23.
IUP freshman
Jessica Ignace (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) earned her first career start in the middle, hitting .389 with eight kills a block assist. Senior setter
Lindsay Moeller (Troy, Mich./Troy) finished with 23 assists.
The Crimson Hawks look to rebound tomorrow afternoon when they host Gannon at the Kovalchick Complex. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
