THE GAME AT A GLANCE
The Crimson Hawks will go for their seventh consecutive victory when they host non-conference opponent Ohio Valley on Monday night. Tipoff at the Kovalchick Complex is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. IUP is coming off of a 23-point blowout victory over Mansfield last Saturday and is outscoring opponents by nearly 21 points during the streak to improve to 6-2 overall. Ohio Valley is 4-4 on the year and will play at Fairmont State on Saturday prior to the game in Indiana on Monday. 

The game will be broadcast on WQMU 92.5 FM with the voice of IUP Athletics, Jack Benedict, calling the action. You can also listen on u92radio.com and on the u92radio app on your smartphone.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR
• This is the fifth of seven straight home games for the Crimson Hawks; They are 4-0 this year at home and 40-6 in four seasons under HC Tom McConnell, while Ohio Valley is 3-2 away from home this season
• A win on Monday would be the seventh straight for IUP, matching last year's longest win streak and tied for the second longest (13 in 2014-15) under McConnell
• IUP won the last meeting between these two schools, 83-43 back on Nov. 18, 2014; Lindsay Stamp reached the 1,000-point milestone in the game played at the KCAC
• IUP is averaging 72.5 points during its six-game win streak after scoring just 56.5 in its opening two losses
• IUP leads the PSAC and ranks 10th in Division II by holding opponents to 53.0 points per game this season; IUP has given up 60 points just once (Kutztown, 67) and is allowing just 22.0 points in the second half of games
• IUP leads the PSAC and ranks 11th in Division II with 5.63 blocked shots per game
• OVU is averaging 61.0 points per game and has broken 70 points on two occasions

MCCONNELL, CRIMSON HAWKS ARE 40-6 AT HOME
In four years under HC Tom McConnell, the Crimson Hawks boast a 40-6 record (.870) in home games, including 4-0 this seaosn. Each of those six losses came to PSAC teams, as IUP is 7-0 against non-conference foes in the Kovalchick Complex since 2013.

CRIMSON HAWKS ARE 16-2 IN DECEMBER SINCE 2013
With two games left in the month, the Crimson Hawks are looking for their second 5-0 December record in the past four seasons. Since McConnell started in 2013, IUP is 16-2 (.889) and is outscoring opponents by an average of 13 points playing in the month of December. 

IUP OUTSCORING OPPONENTS BY NEARLY 21 POINTS DURING SIX-GAME WIN STREAK
The Crimson Hawks are averaging 72.5 points during their current six-game win streak, nearly 21 points better than their opponents (51.8). IUP has had blowout wins of 34 points (Lock Haven, 80-46), 39 points (Bowie State, 82-43), and 23 points (Mansfield, 61-38) during the run and is allowing opponents to shoot just 31.9 percent from the field with 103 turnovers (17.2/game). 

THE IUP DEFENSE AGAIN ONE OF THE BEST IN THE PSAC, DIVISION II IN SEVERAL CATEGORIES
The Crimson Hawks' defense has been a force early this year, as IUP leads the PSAC in points allowed (53.0), opponents' field goal percentage (33.0), and blocked shots per game (5.63). Those also rank near the top nationally, with points allowed and blocked shots 11th, and field goal percentage 23th. 

CAROLYN APPLEBY TURNING INTO SCORING THREAT FOR THE CRIMSON HAWKS
So. G Carolyn Appleby (Greensburg, Pa. /Greensburg Central Catholic) has stepped into a full-time role this year and leads IUP in scoring at 15.3 points per game. She had a recent streak of double-figure scoring in six straight games, including 20-point outings on three occasions. Appleby ranks seventh and 11th, respectively, with three-point (.364) and field goal (.434) percentages. 

MEGAN SMITH AGAIN THE MOST VERSATILE ON THE FLOOR FOR THE CRIMSON HAWKS
Jr. G/F Megan Smith (Blain, Pa./West Perry) is having another all-around season, chipping in on both ends of the court. Leading the Crimson Hawks with 6.8 rebounds per game, she's also second with 15.1 points per game and 10 blocks. Smith ranks sixth in the conference with a 46.9 field goal percentage.

LAUREN WOLOSIK HAS BEEN VALUABLE IN HER RETURN TO THE COURT
After missing all but four games last year due to injury, R-So. G Lauren Wolosik (Pittsburgh, Pa. /North Catholic) has return to start in all eight games this season for IUP. She's nearly scoring in double-figures with 9.6 points per game and leads the Crimson Hawks with 30 assists on the year. Over her last five outings, Wolosik is averaging 10.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game, in nearly 30 minutes of court time. 

BRITTANY ROBINSON LEADS THE PSAC, RANKS 29th IN DIVISION II IN BLOCKS PER GAME
So. F Brittany Robinson (Harrisburg, Pa. /Central Dauphin East) is the top shot blocker in the conference, averaging 2.13 swats per game for a total of 17 this season. She's had at least one block in six of her eight games, including a career-high seven against Shippensburg, which is tied for the sixth highest total of any player in Division II this season.
