THE GAME AT A GLANCE
The Crimson Hawks head to California (Pa.) this weekend to play West Chester in the semifinals of the 2016 PSAC Women's Basketball Championships. Tipoff on Saturday at Hamer Hall is set for 1 p.m. This is a rematch of last year's semifinal, which the Golden Rams won 63-59 on a late comeback. This year, IUP is making its 11th consecutive conference tournament appearance, earning the second seed in the Western Division. The Crimson Hawks defeated Gannon 75-70 in the quarterfinals on Tuesday to earn their third trip to the semifinals in the last five years. West Chester is the top seed in the East, defeating East Stroudsburg 70-65 on Tuesday to advance. The winner of this matchup will advance to Sunday's PSAC Championship to play the winner of California and Shippensburg (bracket on page 7).

STORYLINES
• This game is also a rematch of a regular season contest from this year, won by West Chester 92-79 at the KCAC on Nov. 22; Both teams shot over 50 percent, with a combined three 20 point scorers - Dallas Ely has 29, Leslie Stapleton (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) had 26, and Brittany Sicinski had 20
• This will be the fifth all-time PSAC tournament meeting between these two schools, as each team has two wins
• This is IUP's 19th all-time appearance in the PSAC tournament, including a current 11-year run that began in 2006; It's the second longest streak in the conference to California's 16 straight dating back to 2001
• Tuesday's win gave IUP its ninth 20-win season and second under third-year head coach Tom McConnell
• Seven of those 20-win seasons have come in the last 10 years
• IUP leads the all-time series 12-9, with West Chester winning two of three since McConnell's arrival
• The Crimson Hawks were ranked eighth in the NCAA's Division II Atlantic Region rankings last week; Virginia Union was first, followed by West Liberty (second), California (third), West Chester (fourth), Shaw (fifth), Chowan (sixth) and Wheeling Jesuit (seventh)
• The Crimson Hawks have a 7-6 record in games played away from the KCAC this season
• IUP is 10-13 all-time playing road or neutral games in the PSAC tournament 
• West Chester is 8-4 this year when playing away from home
• IUP seniors Leslie Stapleton (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) (first team) and Zhané Brooks (second team) were named to All-PSAC West teams when the conference announced its postseason awards on Thursday 
• IUP is arguably the top shooting team in the PSAC, leading with a 38.3 three-point percentage and ranking third  with a 42.9 field per percentage
• IUP's current 38.3 three-point percentage is higher than last year's record-breaking season of 36.3 percent
• IUP has held opponents to 60 points or fewer points 13 times this year, including eight of the last 11 games
• The 28 points that the Crimson Hawks scored in the fourth quarter against Slippery Rock (Jan. 9) were the most in a single quarter for IUP this season
• The Crimson Hawks gave up 34 points to Cheyney, which is tied for the 11th fewest allowed in program history and the least since allowing 32 points to Lock Haven on Feb. 21, 2011
• IUP's 78-72 win over No. 13 Cal (Dec. 16) was its first over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 20 West Chester 76-54 on Jan. 4, 2015 at the Hollinger Field House

LESLIE STAPLETON IS ONE OF THE TOP SCORERS, SHOOTERS IN SCHOOL HISTORY
R-Sr. G Leslie Stapleton (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) became the 23rd player in IUP history to reach the 1,000-point milestone at Kutztown on Dec. 5. She enters this matchup with 1,256 career points and is within striking distance of becoming the ninth player in the history of the program to score 1,300. 
• In 10 career postseason games, Stapleton is averaging 9.9 points and shooting 37.8 percent from the field with 18 three-pointers
• She has 64 career double-figure scoring games, including 22 times in 27 games this season
• She set a career-high with 28 points at Slippery Rock (Feb. 13) and has eight 20-point games this season
• Stapleton is third in IUP history with a 38.9 career three-point field goal percentage (Marina Wareham (New Wilmington, Pa. /Kennedy Catholic), 39.9; Lacey Claar, 39.5 pct)
• Stapleton is second in IUP history with 210 made three-pointers (Claar, 215)
• She has made at least one three-pointer in 93 of her 111 career games played
• Stapleton leads the entire NCAA - regardless of division - with a 94.6 free throw percentage (87-of-92); She's on a current streak of 31 straight and also has streaks of 27 and 22 this year
• Stapleton is tied No. 8 in the PSAC in points per game (16.0)
• Stapleton is No. 4 in the PSAC in three-point field goal percentage (.373)
• Stapleton is No. 5 in the PSAC in three-point field goals per game (2.2)

MARINA WAREHAM IS ANOTHER THREE-POINT THREAT 
Sr. G Marina Wareham (New Wilmington, Pa. /Kennedy Catholic) is a top three-point threat, leading the PSAC and ranking 17th in in the country with a 44.2 percentage. Her 65 three-pointers made are the third most in single season school history.
• She's currently the IUP leader in career (39.9) and single season (44.2) three-point percentage
• Her record eight three-pointers against UPJ helped her to a career-high 28 points
• She's fourth on the team with 10.9 points per game and has reached double-figures in scoring 14 times
• Her 106 assists are 11th in the PSAC; She had a career-high eight assists vs. Slippery Rock (Jan. 9)
• Her 1.8 assist-turnover ratio (106-58) is fifth in the PSAC 

ZHANÉ BROOKS PROVIDES IUP's DOUBLE-DOUBLE THREAT
Sr. F Zhané Brooks has 10 double-doubles this year, including four in her last six, with a career total of 13.
• She has a career-high 25 points twice this year - at Slippery Rock (Feb. 13) and vs. Gannon (March 1)
• Brooks leads the Crimson Hawks with 7.6 rebounds per game and is second in scoring at 15.0 points per game
• For her career, Brooks has 39 double-figure scoring games and 14 double-digit rebounding games 

MEGAN SMITH HAS BECOME A BIG TIME THREAT
So. G Megan Smith (Blain, Pa./West Perry) has taken off this season, averaging 12.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
• She had a recent streak of five straight double-figure scoring games in which she averaged 17.2 points and 7.2 rebounds with 55.7 field goal and 59.1 three-point percentages
• Smith set new career-highs of 25 points and 12 rebounds at Slippery Rock (Feb. 13)
• She has 18 double-figure scoring games this season
• She is fifth in the PSAC with 48 blocks (1.8 per game)
• Smith has 14 multi-block games, including a career-high five against Clarion (Jan. 16)
