HOW THEY GOT HERE
IUP advanced to the round of 16 with a 5-2 win over Mercyhurst in the Atlantic Region Championships on May 9. The Crimson Hawks were one of two host teams for the Atlantic Region, and enter this week as the second seed from the Region.

St. Mary's is the No. 1 seed from the South Central Region, earning its third straight trip to the round of 16 with a 5-0 win over 42nd-ranked St. Edwards on May 8. The Rattlers also won their fourth straight Heartland Conference title.

The Crimson Hawks enter as the 38th-ranked team in Division II according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). They started the year ranked 38th and reached as high as 36th in the country, and have a 4-2 record against top-50 teams this year, including wins over Tiffin, Tusculum, Chestnut Hill and Mercyhurst.
