THE WEEKEND AT A GLANCE
The 6th-ranked Crimson Hawks open their 2017-18 season this weekend at the Small College Basketball (SCB) Hall of Fame Classic in Evansville, Ind. IUP was one of eight top-ranked Division II schools invited to participate in this new tradition built around the latest SCB Hall of Fame induction. The Crimson Hawks have the toughest draw, squaring off against 20th-ranked Findlay on Friday at 3:30 p.m. and 10th-ranked Ferris State on Saturday at 1 p.m. All games will be played at the Ford Center in Evansville.
STORYLINES
• This will be IUP's first trip back to the Ford Center since it's NCAA Division II Elite Eight run in 2015
• The Crimson Hawks have won 17 straight season openers, a streak that dates back to the 2000-01 season
• For the ninth straight year IUP is ranked in a preseason national poll, showing up at #6 in the NABC Coaches Top 25, which was released on Oct. 31
• The Crimson Hawks were picked to defend their PSAC West regular season title, receiving eight of nine first place votes in the conference's preseason coaches' poll
• IUP returns four starters and six lettermen from last year's PSAC and Atlantic Region semifinals, including preseason All-Americans in Jr. F

• The Crimson Hawks have not yet hit the court in competition this year, foregoing their regular Division I exhibition games to compete in this invitational
• #20 Findlay defeated Toledo in exhibition action last week 89-86, outscoring the Rockets 36-30 in the paint and forcing 17 turnovers
• #10 Ferris State has played in two exhibitions, defeating Aquinas 72-57 and falling to Michigan State 80-72
