INDIANA, Pa. --- The IUP men's basketball team defeated Fairmont State 74-59 Tuesday night, holding the Fighting Falcons to a scoring season-low of 59 points. This is the fewest points the national runners-up have posted since March 15, 2015, against West Liberty University.
The Crimson Hawks led most of the first half, before Fairmont State's D'Ondre Stockman tied the game with a 3-pointer late in the first half. IUP regained their lead with a 15-0 scoring run in the middle of the second half.
Senior guard Anthony Glover scored 24 points, going 6-of-14 from the field and 9-of-9 from the foul line.
Glover was one of three Crimson Hawks to post double-figures in scoring, with sophomore guard
Malik Miller (Farrell, Pa./Farrell) scoring 14 points and junior forward
Jacobo Diaz (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain/CBA Gran Canaria) adding 13 points.
Diaz had 10 rebounds along with his 13 points, posting his third straight and sixth total double-double this season.
IUP outshot Fairmont State 47 percent to 32 percent from the field, and 84 percent to 52 percent from the foul line.
The game was full of fouls as both teams combined for a total of 48 fouls (IUP 20, FSU 24), with seven fouls in the final four minutes of the game.
