AT A GLANCE
28th-ranked IUP women's tennis opens its 2017 spring season on Saturday at Division III Oberlin. Start time at the John W. Heisman Field House is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. The Crimson Hawks are seeing their first action this year after going 1-0 in duals last fall. The Yeowomen went 0-2 in the fall and dropped a 7-0 decision to Division I Cleveland State last Friday.
 
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
*The Crimson Hawks have won each of the last two spring season openers defeating Denison (8-1) last year and Seton Hill (9-0) in 2015
*For the first time, IUP opens the spring as the highest ranked Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) team in the ITA Division II Rankings, reaching a program-best No. 28; Mercyhurst is ranked No. 45
*The Crimson Hawks also rank first in the Atlantic Region for the first time
*Luise von Agris (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany/Adalbet-Stifter-Gymnasium) had the most singles wins in the fall with eight; She and Jarka Petercakova (Bratislava, Slovakia/Sport Gymnasium) each had nine doubles victories
