The 28th-ranked IUP women's tennis team resumes Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play with its spring home opener against Slippery Rock on Tuesday afternoon. The Crimson Hawks breezed to a 9-0 victory over The Rock last season. IUP is coming off a 6-3 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic last Friday. Slippery Rock dropped an 8-1 decision to Division I George Mason last Thursday.

Jarka Petercakova (Bratislava, Slovakia/Sport Gymnasium) and
Luise von Agris (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany/Adalbet-Stifter-Gymnasium) earned an 8-1 win in doubles play while
Raquel Gonzalez (San Sebastian, Spain/Colegio Sagrado Corazon) teamed with
Rachel Wood (Nottingham, U.K./West Bridgrord) to earn an 8-4 victory
*IUP is looking to snap a four-game skid after starting the season 5-0 for the second-straight season
*For the first time, IUP opens the spring as the highest ranked Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) team in the ITA Division II Rankings, reaching a program-best No. 28
*The Crimson Hawks also rank first in the Atlantic Region for the first time.

Petercakova and von Agris continue to lead IUP as the pair each have a team-leading 11 singles victories. The duo have teamed together all season and lead the Crimson Hawks with a 15-5 record in doubles play
