INDIANA, Pa. –
Rachel Wood (Nottingham, U.K./West Bridgrord) had the match-clinching win as IUP women's tennis shut out Edinboro 5-0 in the quarterfinal round of the 2017 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Tuesday at the Maple Street Courts.

The Crimson Hawks (17-5) advance to the semifinals, where they will play PSAC East No. 1 seed West Chester on Friday morning. Bloomsburg is playing host to the men's and women's tennis "final four" this weekend, with the semifinals and championship matches played at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.
IUP will be making its seventh straight appearance in the PSAC semifinals dating back to 2011. The Crimson Hawks are 6-0 in the semifinals during that span.
IUP entered the conference championships as the No. 2 seed in the PSAC West, and duplicated its 9-0 regular season win over No. 3 seed Edinboro (11-6) nearly three weeks ago.
Doubles play went in order, with 16th-ranked
Jarka Petercakova (Bratislava, Slovakia/Sport Gymnasium) and
Luise von Agris (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany/Adalbet-Stifter-Gymnasium) starting things off with an easy 8-1 win at the top spot.
Raquel Gonzalez (San Sebastian, Spain/Colegio Sagrado Corazon) and Wood won 8-4 at No. 2 while
Sophie Butland (Taunton, Somerset, U.K./Bishop Fox's Community School) and
Katya Minchenkova (Mytishchi, Russia/Secondary School No.12) earned a 9-8 (8-6) win at No. 3.
Von Agris opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2, with Wood following at No. 5 with a 6-3, 6-1 win to clinch.
