LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – In two similar games, IUP softball surrendered just two runs and was swept by Lock Haven in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.
Crimson Hawks pitchers gave up 14 total hits, and gave up runs in the seventh and ninth innings, respectively, in the two losses. IUP falls to 8-11 overall and 0-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division.
Lock Haven (12-12, 3-1) scored late runs in both games to seal the pair of wins, scoring on an infield throwing error in game one and a walk-off solo homerun in game two.
Lauren Zola (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton-La Salle) struck out four and scattered seven hits as she took the loss in the opener.
Macy Mularski (Irwin, Pa./Yough High School) started game two, giving up four hits in five-and-a-third, with
Megan Risinger (Creekside, Pa./Marion Center) tossed the final two-and-two-thirds.
Amanda Spindler (Brownsburg, Ind./Cathedral) had a pair of doubles on the day, while
Hannah Mercer (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area) and
Amanda Parrish (Dysart, Pa./Altoona) each collected two hits.

IUP's home doubleheader with Clarion, which was originally scheduled for Saturday but postponed due to wet weather, will now be played on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
