Nicole Beidacki (Porto Alegre, Brazil/Colegio Sao Judas Tadeu) advanced to the flight one championship match, highlighting IUP's weekend at the Bucknell Invitational. It was the first action of the fall for the Crimson Hawks, as they returned to the court after last year's conference championship season.
FINAL RESULTS
Von Aris and Beidacki earned three wins over the weekend before falling to Lanciano and Martin from Loyola by a score of 6-4 in the title match. Their wins came over teams from Howard (6-4), Bucknell (6-2) and another from the host Bison (6-2) in the semifinals.
That performance was the best of the invitational for the Crimson Hawks, who also saw
Mariana Valenzuela (Bogotá, Colombia/George Berkeley School) and
Flavia Flandoli de Oliveira (Sao Paulo/Coleglo Objetivo) advanced to the semifinals of the flight two consolation bracket.
Crimson Hawks tallying singles wins at Bucknell were

Magraner's win came in a comeback, defeating Megan Gamble of Mount Saint Mary 2-6, 6-4 (10-5) in flight two. Valenzuela defeated Jill Auteri of Bucknell 6-3, 7-5, and Flandoli beat Macquarie Simon of Lafayette by a score of 6-0, 6-1. Each took losses in the second round.
