The Crimson Hawks head westward this weekend as they continue their 2017 season with the Notre Dame College Invitational this Friday and Saturday, September 15 – September 16 in South Euclid, Ohio. A total of three matches will be played by the Crimson Hawks.

*The Crimson Hawks faced only one of this weekend's opponents last year, grabbing the win in four sets over Concord and have also faced off against Notre Dame(OH) this year last weekend grabbing the victory in three sets
*IUP looks to continue their 6-3 start to the season, including a 3-1 record in its season-opening home tournament, a victory over West Liberty in four sets, and splitting last weekends PSAC/MEC Crossover tournament going 2-2
*The Crimson Hawks split over the weekend in W.Va going 2-2 compiling victories over Notre Dame (OH) and West Virginia State, both in three sets; Sr. OH Natalie Cignetti (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) shined for the Crimson Hawks again compiling 50 kills on 132 attacks with only 15 errors
*IUP continues to be one of the best teams in the conference in returning serves, ranking first by giving up just 0.73 opponent aces per set

*Sr. OH Natalie Cignetti (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) is currently averaging 4.0 kills per set; keeping this pace would place her at fourth overall in a season in the IUP record books; Cignetti is currently eighth all-time in kills with 930 through her career now on the chase for seventh which is held by Morgan Cerveny with 940.
*Sr. S Katie Miller (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) is currently sitting at 308 assists through nine matches; keeping this pace would help her crack the top 10 in assists in a season
*Sr. L Jess Marut (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) keeps climbing the record books; With her 136 digs this season, she now sits at third on the all-time IUP record books in digs with 1,338 just surpassing Krista Nordby who had 1337; next Marut shoots for Sarah Rosenberry who has 1,752 digs in her career
