Natalie Cignetti (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) had 15 kills and junior
Sami Brown (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) added 11 as the Crimson Hawks defeated East Stroudsburg in three sets on Friday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.
The win opened conference play for the Crimson Hawks, who won their fourth straight to improve to 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
The 25-19, 25-21, 25-23 win also marked the eighth 3-0 victory for IUP this fall.
Statistically, the match was even with the Crimson Hawks hitting .239 while East Stroudsburg (8-3, 0-1) hit .200. The Warriors had 7.0 team blocks, but IUP had 10 more kills (44-34) and tallied six service aces. Junior
Breanna Damiani (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) had three of those aces.
Cignetti hit .200 on 40 total attacks, as her 15 kills brought her career total to 996. The 11 kills for Brown marked her sixth double-digit kill outing of the year.
Senior
Katie Miller (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) dished out 39 of IUP's 44 assists on the night, her 10th outing of 30-plus this season.
