THE GAME AT A GLANCE
The IUP men's basketball team (12-5, 8-2 PSAC) will try to get another win streak going as they head to California to face the Vulcans (8-9, 4-7 PSAC). Tipoff at the Convocation Center is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Crimson Hawks rebounded from last week's loss to East Stroudsburg with a thrilling 70-67 win at Edinboro, rallying from a nine-point first half deficit. The Vulcans dropped a 90-87 overtime game on the road at Seton Hill on Saturday and has lost four of their last six games. 

TIPOFF NOTES
>> IUP is 4-3 this season in games decided by five points or less, with four of those such games (3-1) coming since the 81-76 win over Pitt-Johnstown on Jan. 3
>> The Crimson Hawks are 51-6 in the month of January since the 2011-12 season, including a 4-1 record this year; The 85-82 loss to ESU was IUP's first in the month of January since 2015
>> IUP's win over Edinboro was it's 18th in the last 19 meetings with the Fighting Scots

>> California's 84.7 PPG this year is fourth in the PSAC and 38th in Division II; It's a dramatic improvement from last year, when the Vulcans were near the bottom of the league with 71.8 PPG
>> Three Vulcans average at least 17 points - Sr. G Isaiah Lewis (18.7), Sr. G Terry Davis, Jr. (17.8) and Jr. F Jahmere Howze (17.0)
>> California has one of the worst defenses in the PSAC, giving up 88.0 PPG; Cal has given up 80+ points 15 times in the 17 games, including 90+ six times

CRIMSON HAWKS ON HOT STREAK AFTER EARLY SEASON STRUGGLES
>> After a 1-3 start to the season, the Crimson Hawks have won 11 of their last 13 games, including a six-game win streak that ended last week
>> All four of IUP's five losses are to teams currently ranked in the Top 25 by the NABC/D2SIDA - #7/6 Ferris State (86-82), #13/16 Virginia State (69-64), #16/15 Findlay (80-61), and #17/9 West Chester (93-78)
>> In last 13 games, Crimson Hawks are outscoring opponents 78.3-71.1, and boast a 48.3 FG% (350-725)

3-POINT SHOOTING CARRYING CRIMSON HAWKS, ONE OF TOP SHOOTING TEAMS IN THE REGION
>> The Crimson Hawks are shooting 39.8 percent from beyond the arc in the last 13 games (11-2)

GLOVER LEADS IUP, AMONG PSAC BEST IN SCORING
>> Sr. G Anthony Glover, Jr. (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit) is having his best seson, leading the Crimson Hawks and ranking 10th in the PSAC with an average of 18.2 PPG
>> Glover is one of the best pure shooters in the PSAC, ranking 2nd with a 46.2 3FG%, 4th with 2.8 made 3FGs per game, 7th with an 87.3 FT% (55-63), and 19th with a 47.6 FG% (108-227)
>> Glover scored a career-high 34 points (8-15 FGs, 6-8 3FGs, 12-12 FTs) in leading IUP to an 89-85 win over Slippery Rock (Jan. 8)
>> During the Slippery Rock win, Glover went over 1,000 points in his 3-year IUP career; He already reached the 1,000-point milestone in his collegiate career, totaling 1,261 including 218 as a freshman at Chicago State
>> Glover scored 31 points (11-17 FGs, 6-8 3FGs, 3-4 FTs) in a n 81-76 comeback win over Pitt-Johnstown (Jan. 3)
>> He has seven games of 20-plus points, scoring in double-figures in 16 of 17 games

ALL-AMERICAN DIAZ AVERAGING CLOSE TO A DOUBLE-DOUBLE 
>> Jr. F Jacobo Diaz (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain/CBA Gran Canaria) is second on the team with 14.1 PPG and leads the Crimson Hawks with 9.6 RPG
>> His 9.6 RPG are fourth in the PSAC
>> On Monday, he was one of 100 players named to the Bevo Francis Award Watch List, which goes to the top small college player in the nation; It's the second straight year he was named to the watch list
>> He's posted 8 double-doubles in 17 games this year; That brings his career total to 24 double-doubles, including 14 in 32 games as a sophomore and two in 29 games as a freshman
>> Diaz averaged a double-double with 14.4 PPG and 10.0 RPG in 2016-17; He was the first IUP player since Darryl Webb (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) in 2010-11 (17.4 PPG, 10.1 RPG) to average a double-double for an entire season
>> Diaz has scored 949 career points and is looking to join the list of 31 former IUP players with 1,000 career points
>> Diaz was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Year and honorable mention All-American by the Division II Bulletin last season; He was named a preseason All-American this year

LOMBARDI ALSO LOOKING FOR SCORING MILESTONE THIS YEAR
>> Jr. G Dante Lombardi (Indiana, Pa./The Kiski School) joins Cobo as he's also close to the 1,000-point milestone with 864 career points
>> Lombardi is 3rd on the team with 11.9 PPG with 10 double-figure scoring efforts in 15 games this year
>> Lombardi is also IUP's top distributor, ranking 4th in the PSAC with 4.6 APG
>> He made the game-winning 3-pointer with 2.8 seconds left in IUP's 70-67 win at Edinboro (Jan. 13)
