INDIANA, Pa. — Redshirt junior forward
Willem Brandwijk (Voorburg, The Netherlands/Holderness School (NH)) posted his first career double-double with a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds to help the IUP men's basketball team defeat Seton Hill 92-70 Wednesday night at the Kovalchick Complex.
Brandwijk was near perfect, going 7-of-8 from the field and 2-of-3 from the foul line, adding four blocks in 24 minutes of work.
Junior guard
Dante Lombardi (Indiana, Pa./The Kiski School) was another highlight for the Crimson Hawks scoring a season-high 23 points, tying his career-high, with eight assists during 31 minutes of action. Lombardi went 8-of-13 from the field, 5-of-8 from 3-point range and went a perfect 2-of-2 from the foul line.
It was the fourth win in a row for the Crimson Hawks, as they improve their record to 15-5 overall and 11-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
IUP had the hot-hand from long distance early, as Lombardi scored a three during their first possession and senior guard
Anthony Glover, Jr. (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit) drained three 3-pointers in three minutes. The Crimson Hawks went 12-of-31 overall from 3-point range and had a 52 percent conversion rate from the floor.
Glover scored a season-high of six 3-pointers, overall going 6-of-10 from 3-point range and 9-of-15 from the field. This was Glover's tenth 20-point game this season, reaching double-figures in 19 of 20 games.
Another key player for the Crimson Hawks was junior forward
Jacobo Diaz (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain/CBA Gran Canaria), grabbing 15 boards and scoring six points.
