Jess Marut had 15 digs as the IUP women's volleyball team lost to Seton Hill in three sets Friday night at the Kovalchick Complex.
The Crimson Hawks dropped to 6-17 overall and 2-8 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play with the loss. It was their sixth in a row. Seton Hill is now 13-7 and 7-3.
The Griffins won by scores of 25-16, 25-11 and 25-12, out-hitting the Crimson Hawks .255 to -.071 on the night.
IUP stuck close to Seton Hill in the early going of the opening two sets, including a 7-6 lead in the first. An 8-0 run by Griffins followed, as they went on to lead for nearly every point of the remainder of the match.
Up next
The Crimson Hawks look to bounce back Saturday afternoon against California (Pa.). The Vulcans are 14-8 overall and 7-3 in the conference. Match time is 1 p.m.
