WEEKEND AT A GLANCE
IUP women's volleyball (6-14, 2-5 PSAC) will travel to Slippery Rock and Edinboro this weekend for pair of PSAC Northwest matches. The Crimson Hawks will look to bounce back after a hard-fought, four-set loss to Clarion Tuesday night. Slippery Rock (5-10, 2-5) ended a three-match losing streak Tuesday with a 3-0 win over the Fighting Scots (8-9, 1-6), who have lost seven of their last eight matches.
NOTES
>> The Crimson Hawks are 25-18 all-time against Slippery Rock, including 3-1 wins each of the last two years. Edinboro owns the all-time series (35-10) against IUP, including a five-set upset win in the PSAC quarterfinals at the KCAC last November.
>> Senior Jess Marut led the Crimson Hawks with 22 of the 48 total digs against Clarion Tuesday. It was her third 20-plus dig performance in IUP's last four matches.
>> Marut is fourth in the PSAC and 32nd in Division II with 355 total digs this year. She's also fifth and 41st, respectively, with 5.38 digs per set. She's also 11th in PSAC history with 2,090 career digs.
>> Junior Jessica Ignace tied a career-high with 15 kills Tuesday night. Over the past four matches she has 47 kills (3.36/set) and has a team-best 159 kills this season.
>> Freshman Ally Graves and sophomore Shelby Miles each had a season-high seven kills Tuesday.
>> The Crimson hawks also posted a season-high 11 total blocks against Clarion. They have a combined 44 team blocks and are averaging 8.8 blocks over the last five matches, compared to just 4.8 blocks during the previous 15 matches.
>> Sophomore Jasmine Raudys has a team-best 52.0 total blocks and 0.91 blocks per set.
Freshman Kylie Osborn led the team with 8 block assists, with Shelby Miles and sophomore Jasmine Raudys adding to the defensive efforts with 7 and 3 block assists respectively.
