No. 8 IUP men's basketball (2-0, 0-0 PSAC) looks to continue its momentum from a successful opening weekend as they host Bowie State (0-2, 0-0 CIAA) Wednesday night. Tipoff at the Kovalchick Complex is 7:30 p.m. The Crimson Hawks posted big wins over non-conference opponents Concord (83-72) and No. 16 Virginia State (70-67) over the weekend. The Bulldogs dropped a pair of games to Charleston and Glenville State.

Joe Lombardi is 5-2 against Bowie State, including wins in each of the past two regular seasons. The Crimson Hawks are 2-1 against the Bulldogs at home since 2010.
>> IUP's win over Virginia State marked its first regular season win over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 8 Kutztown 77-76 in December 2016.

Jacobo Diaz was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week Monday for his work over the weekend. He averaged 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and shot 56.3 percent from the field. He scored 24 points against Concord.

Malik Miller scored a career-high 24 points in IUP's win over Virginia State, shooting 7-10 from the field and 8-9 from the foul line. He was named an IUP Athlete of the Week.

Dante Lombardi went over 400 assists for his career Friday night, becoming the fifth player in program history to record 1,000 points and 400 assists.
>> IUP begins the season ranked No. 8 in the NABC Coaches Top 25 and No. 6 in the D2SIDA Top 25. It's the 10th straight year the Crimson Hawks begin the regular season in the top 25 rankings.
