THE GAME AT A GLANCE
3rd-ranked IUP women's basketball (4-0, 0-0 PSAC) returns to the Kovalchick Complex for the back end of its home-and-home with Cheyney (0-5) Wednesday. It's a special 11 a.m. tipoff as the Crimson Hawks host their 5th annual Education Day game. IUP last saw the court on November 20 with a 77-41 road win at Cheyney to improve to 4-0 on the year. The Wolves, no longer in the PSAC, had their best showing of the year Monday night in a narrow 64-59 at Nyack.
TIPOFF NOTES
>> All 13 players who saw the court in last week's win Cheyney also scored, with Sr. F
Brittany Robinson posting a team-high 12 points.
>> The 36-point win over the Wolves was IUP's fourth straight blowout to start the season, following the 27-point home victory over Bloomsburg the week before.

Tom McConnell is 4-0 against Cheyney winning by an average of more than 30 points per game.
>> Now in its fifth year, the Education Day game was started by McConnell in 2014. That year, an IUP women's basketball program record 2,022 people watch the Crimson Hawks defeat Shepherd 85-52 on Nov. 26.
>> IUP is 4-0 and averages 90.0 points and over 920 fans for Education Day games. This year an expected 1000 elementary school children are expected to be in attendance.

Lauren Wolosik, who was hurt at Cheyney a week ago. Hollen has played 44 games at IUP with one start.
>> This is the final non-conference game of the season for the Crimson Hawks, who begin PSAC play this weekend with a road trip to Eastern Division opponents Kutztown (Saturday) and Millersville (Sunday).
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE WOLVES
>> Cheyney Athletics is no longer a member of the NCAA or the PSAC after withdrawing upon conclusion of the 2017-18 academic year.
>> The Wolves have 21 games on their 2018-19 schedule and will face several PSAC opponents including California (PA), Edinboro, Bloomsburg, and Mansfield.
>> Cheyney is 0-5 on the year with losses to Virginia Union, Virginia State, Norfolk State and IUP.
>> The Wolves are shooting just 24.0 percent from the floor with opponents converting better than 51 percent of their field goal attempts. Teams are averaging 92.0 points against Cheyney.
CRIMSON HAWKS ONE OF TOP TEAMS IN DIVISION II
>> The Crimson Hawks are ranked 3rd in this week's WBCA Top 25 Poll released Tuesday. They are also 13th in the D2SIDA Media Top 25.
>> This is IUP's highest national ranking since sitting at Nos. 2 and 3 in the WBCA poll for most of January last season. The No. 2 ranking last year was the program's best ever.
>> IUP opened the year ranked 5th and 18th, respectively, in the polls. The WBCA ranking is the program's highest preseason ranking ever.
>> The Crimson Hawks finished the year No. 3 in the WBCA.
>> They are also ranked No. 2 in the D2SIDA Atlantic Region poll, garnering two of the six first place votes.
SCORING PACE FOR IUP OFF TO A HOT START
>> The Crimson Hawks lead the PSAC and are 6th in Division II with a scoring average of 86.5 points per game.
>> The 346 total points scored is the most ever by the program in the first four games of a season.
>> The 95 points against Alderson Broaddus is the 2nd most by IUP in a season opener (96 vs. Ohio Valley, 2002).
>> The 101 points against Ohio Valley marked the 14th time that IUP has reached the 100-point mark and is the 11th most points in a single game in school history.
>> Individual scoring is spread out with just two players averaging in double-figures (Appleby, 13.8; Wolosik, 11.5). All 13 players who play average at least 2.0 points and six players average at least 6.0 per game.
APPLEBY LEADS THE WAY IN 2018-19

Carolyn Appleby enters the new season as a two-time All-PSAC West selection and is in the top 20 in 12 single season IUP records, and eight career school records.
>> Appleby is at her best in the postseason, earning the Atlantic Region MVP and a spot on the NCAA Elite Eight All-Tournament Team last spring. She was also the PSAC Tournament MVP in 2017.
>> Appleby enters today's game 18th in IUP history with 1,172 career points. She needs 20 points to pass Jodi Frederick (1191, 1996-01) for 17th place.
>> She is also 10th in IUP history with 123 3-pointers. She's approaching Jess Connor (127, 2000-04) who's in 9th place and Marina Wareham (131, 2012-16) in 8th place.
LAUREN WOLOSIK CLOSE TO 1000 CAREER POINTS

Lauren Wolosik looks to become the second player with 1000 career points on the IUP roster as she has scored 980 in her career.
>> She has scored 788 points in her four years at IUP and 192 in two seasons at Division II Central Connecticut State.
>> Wolosik has received two medical redshirts in her career - 2013-14 after playing in just four games in her true freshman year at CCSU and 2015-16 after playing four games in her first year at IUP.
>> Wolosik is currently tied for 11th in IUP history with 306 career assists. She needs 5 more assists to enter the top 10 and tie Chris Scherer (311, 1981-85).
BRITTANY ROBINSON MAKING RUN AT BLOCKS RECORD

Brittany Robinson enters this game with 132 career blocks, 4th in IUP history.
>> She's 6 swats away from tying former teammate
Megan Smith (138, 2014-18) for third and could make a run at the all-time program record of 186 held by Jodi Frederick (1996-01).
>> Robinson is currently the program's all-time field goal percentage leader at 56.1 pct. (305-544).
LEXI GRIGGS STEPPING UP IN FIRST YEAR AS A STARTER

Lexi Griggs has started each of IUP's first four games and is tied for 2nd on the team with 98 minutes played (24.5 MPG)
>> She's ranks 2nd on the team with 6.8 RPG and 3rd with 9.8 PPG. Griggs posted her first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the season opener.
