GREENSBURG, Pa. –
Jess Marut moved into eighth place in conference history in career digs as the 2018 IUP women's volleyball season ended Saturday with a straight sets loss at Seton Hill.
Marut had 17 digs against the Griffins to move past Kutztown's Nicole Buiso (2004-07) into sole possession of eighth place with 2,277 career digs.
She also finishes her career second on IUP's all-time chart behind Emily Pany (2007-10) who had 2,670.
Seton Hill won Saturday with scores of 25-18, 25-13 and 25-22, handing the Crimson Hawks their seventh straight loss. IUP ended the year with a 7-24 overall record and a 3-15 mark in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
Sophomore
Madi Burns led the IUP offense with nine kills on 29 attacks, adding a pair of block assists for 10.0 total points. Junior
Jessica Ignace and freshman
Kylie Osborn added seven kills each. Osborn also had three block assists.
Marut and classmate
Breanna Damiani had both of IUP's service aces in their final collegiate match.
