TIPOFF NOTES
>> IUP will unveil its national semifinalist banner prior to tipoff of Sunday's game against Ohio Valley.
>> The Crimson Hawks played well in their 72-50 loss at Ohio State October 28, the team's only exhibition game of the preseason. IUP outscored OSU 13-11 in the 2nd quarter and trailed just 31-26 at the half.
>> Sr. G
Carolyn Appleby scored a game-high 23 points against the Buckeyes on 7-15 FGs and 8-9 FTs.
>> Appleby is one of three starters from last year's national semifinalist team that set a program record with 30 wins. R-Sr. G
Lauren Wolosik and Sr. F
Brittany Robinson also return.
>> The Crimson Hawks' No. 5 ranking in the WBCA Top 25 is the highest preseason ranking in program history. It's the first time in the HC
Tom McConnell era that IUP is ranked in the preseason in back-to-back years.
>> IUP was picked to finish 2nd in the PSAC West preseason coaches' poll. The Crimson Hawks received four of nine first place votes, trailing division-favorite Edinboro with the remaining five first place votes.
