GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Crimson Hawks tied a season-high with their fourth straight victory in a 9-0 win over Seton Hill Friday night. It was IUP's third straight shutout, improving to 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division.
Mariana Valenzuela (Bogotá, Colombia/George Berkeley School) and
Julia Newman (Tauranga, New Zealand/Tauranga Girls' College) opened up the match with an 8-1 victory at the third doubles spot.
Jarka Petercakova (Bratislava, Slovakia/Sport Gymnasium) and
Luise von Agris (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany/Adalbet-Stifter-Gymnasium) won 8-3 at first and
Katya Minchenkova (Mytishchi, Russia/Secondary School No.12) and
Nicole Beidacki (Porto Alegre, Brazil/Colegio Sao Judas Tadeu) won 8-4 at the second spot.
IUP surrendered just 12 combined points to cruise through singles play. Minchenkova picked up the first singles victory with a 6-2, 6-1 score at the third spot. Von Agris won 6-1, 6-2 at two and Valenzuela won 6-2, 6-0 at six. Also winning in singles play were Petercakova at one (6-0, 6-1), Beidacki at four (6-1, 6-2) and Newman at five (6-0, 6-0).
Von Agris brought her career total to 188 combined victories, just one shy of tying Tanya Timko for first in IUP history. Timko won 189 combined matches from 2011-15.

The Crimson Hawks are back in action Saturday morning with a road match at Slippery Rock. This match was originally scheduled for March 21 but was postponed due to bad weather.
