THE WEEKEND AT A GLANCE
IUP women's tennis (17-5, 6-0 PSAC West) travels to Bloomsburg to defend its conference title at the 2018 PSAC Championships this weekend. The Crimson Hawks open with West Chester (10-9, 4-1 PSAC East) in Friday's semifinals with a scheduled start time of 4 p.m. As the PSAC West regular season champs, IUP earned a quarterfinal bye while West Chester is the No. 2 seed from the East and defeated No. 3 East Stroudsburg 5-0 Tuesday.
 
NOTES
>> The winner advances to the PSAC Championship Saturday at noon against the winner of Mercyhurst and Bloomsburg
>> The Crimson Hawks are making the program's 13th all-time appearance in the PSAC tournament; they've made eight straight appearances since 2011, finishing as the runners-up six times (2011-16)
>> IUP won the program's first ever PSAC title last year, defeating Mercyhurst 5-2 in the championship match; The Crimson Hawks entered as the No. 2 seed from the West, defeating Edinboro in the quarterfinals and West Chester in the semifinals, both by 5-0 scores
>> These two teams played on March 24 in Indiana, with the Crimson Hawks winning 9-0
>> The Crimson Hawks head into the weekend as the No. 1 team in the NCAA Atlantic Region rankings; those rankings determine advancement, seeding, and regional hosts for the NCAA tournament
>> IUP enters the week on a hot streak, winning five straight matches by a combined score of 42-3; three of those wins came against the second, third and fourth ranked teams in the Atlantic Region
>> The Crimson Hawks have a single season program record eight 9-0 shutout victories this year, including five against PSAC West teams
>> Senior Luise von Agris (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany/Adalbet-Stifter-Gymnasium) is looking to break her own single season combined victory record, as she enters the weekend with 52 (25 singles, 27 doubles); She won an IUP record 52 matches during the 2015-16 season
