INDIANA, Pa. – IUP seniors combined for 15 base hits and tossed nearly three scoreless innings of relief as the Crimson Hawks swept Seton Hill by identical 8-5 scores in a Sunday afternoon doubleheader at Owen Dougherty Field.
IUP celebrated Senior Day in between those victories, as

Ted DeSanti (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep),
Chris Calliari (Brockway, Pa./Brockway Area),
Cory Wheeler (Butler, Pa./Butler),
Christian McClure (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley),
Wes Carson (Woodstock, Md./Marriots Ridge),
Adam Polites (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria),
Alex Hart (State College, PA/The Kiski School),
Anthony Rigous (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North),
Dan Sepic (York, Pa./Central York),
Nate Dickey (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin), and
Dan Roan (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) were honored.
Sepic went 4-for-8 with three RBI and three runs scored, one of seven seniors with at least one base hit. Carson went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and two RBI and Dickey went 3-for-7 with a triple and three RBI.
McClure appeared in both games in relief, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings and picking up the save in the game one victory. Roan faced two batters out of the bullpen in the seventh of game two, getting a strikeout.
Crimson Hawks comeback to win opener
Seton Hill scored in each of the first two innings to take a 4-0 lead. IUP then opened the bottom of the third with four straight hits – single by Rigous, double by Calliari, double by
Chris Eisel (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin), and triple by Wheeler – and scored three runs. Dickey later tripled as the Crimson Hawks took a 5-3 lead.
IUP kept the Griffins (21-20, 13-11) off the board until the sixth when they scored once to cut their deficit in half. IUP then added a few insurance runs in the bottom, including an RBI double by Eisel and a two-run single by Sepic.
IUP jumps out to early lead in nightcap
The Crimson Hawks grabbed the early lead in game two, scoring three runs in each of the first two innings to go on top 6-2.
IUP took an 8-3 lead to the seventh after an RBI single by Dickey and a sacrifice fly from DeSanti in the sixth. The Griffins scored early in the seventh before Roan stepped in and got the first out. McClure then entered and gave up one hit and run before getting the final two outs to secure the sweep.
Brian Albert (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) picked up the win on the mound, striking out six while allowing four earned runs on four hits in 6.0 innings.

The Crimson Hawks host West Liberty in a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at Dougherty Field. First pitch is 1 p.m. They'll face California (Pa.) in their regular season finale series next weekend.
