THE WEEKEND AT A GLANCE
IUP women's tennis (12-3, 3-0 PSAC West) heads to Ohio for a pair of weekend matches against top 50 opponents in No. 22 Grand Valley State (20-3, 10-0 GLIAC) and No. 44 Wayne State (14-8, 8-2 GLIAC). The matches will be held at the LaTuchie Tennis Center in Stow. The Crimson Hawks will play GVSU Saturday at 2:45 p.m. and Wayne State at 1:45 p.m. Sunday. IUP has won five straight matches by 9-0 decisions, including Monday against Clarion. GVSU has won six of its last seven, including back-to-back 5-2 wins over Division I teams Nebraska-Omaha and Valparaiso, and Wayne State has dropped four straight.

>> IUP got its fifth straight shutout victory after defeating Clarion 9-0, Monday; This is the longest streak for the program since posting five straight 9-0 wins in 2013
>> Luise von Agris (Castrop-Rauxel, Germany/Adalbet-Stifter-Gymnasium) was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week Monday afternoon; She went 6-0 and broke the IUP career combined wins record with 190 during the Crimson Hawks' 9-0 win over Slippery Rock, Saturday, surpassing the 3-year-old record held by two-time PSAC West Athlete of the Year Tanya Timko
>> Katya Minchenkova (Mytishchi, Russia/Secondary School No.12) improved her personal win streak to a team-best eight straight singles matches with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the third spot against Clarion
>> IUP has played these two teams each year since the spring of 2013, holding 3-2 records against both squads since then; Last year the Crimson Hawks defeated No. 47 GVSU 5-4 and Wayne State 8-1
>> GVSU is ranked No. 3 and Wayne State is ranked No. 8 in this week's NCAA Division II Midwest Region rankings; IUP is No. 1 in the Atlantic Region
