IUP Football adds defensive back to roster

INDIANA, Pa. – IUP head football coach Paul Tortorella officially announced the addition of defensive back Yawn Coleman, Jr. to the 2018 roster.

Coleman joins the Crimson Hawks as a transfer from Division II Florida Tech in Melbourne, Fla. The Panthers play out of the Gulf South Conference, the same league that produced 2017 national finalist West Florida.

Coleman is expected to compete for playing time at safety. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Coleman played in 31 career games from 2015-17 at Florida Tech. He combined for 63 tackles, four interceptions, 13 pass breakups, and a fumble recovery. The Panthers won 20 games in those three seasons, earning an NCAA playoff berth out of Super Region 2 in 2016.
