SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The 2018 IUP women's volleyball season opened Thursday night with a loss to Cal State San Marcos at its annual Cougar Classic. The Crimson Hawks lost in three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-10 and 25-13.
Most of the offense came from freshman
Kylie Osborn who finished with team-highs of nine kills and 32 total attacks. Junior
Jessica Ignace added four kills, a service ace and a block assist.
Sophomore
Dominica Niccolai got the start at the setter position and dished out 15 assists. Senior libero
Jess Marut had a team-high 10 digs.
Cougar Classic
The Crimson Hawks are one of six teams in this highly competitive tournament that features a pair of nationally-ranked teams in No. 6 Lewis and No. 8 Nebraska-Kearney.
IUP will play Nebraska-Kearney Friday night at 7 p.m. EST, Lewis Saturday at 2 p.m. EST, and Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday at 7 p.m. EST.
