Weekend at a glance
IUP women's volleyball (4-8, 0-0 PSAC) opens conference play with a pair of PSAC matches this weekend. The Crimson Hawks host Shippensburg Friday night at the Memorial Field House and Pitt-Johnstown Saturday afternoon at the Kovalchick Complex. Game times are 7 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. 

Notes
>> IUP defeated both teams in three sets last season. The Crimson Hawks had some of their best defensive (11.0 blocks vs. Shippensburg) and offensive (52 kills vs. UPJ) performances of 2017. 
>> The Crimson Hawks went 2-2 at the Vulcan Invitational in California, Pa. last weekend. Their two wins came against West Virginia Wesleyan (four sets) and Southern New Hampshire (three sets).
>> Junior Jessica Ignace was named to the Vulcan Invitational All-Tournament Team. She led the Crimson Hawks with 38.0 total points, 31 kills and .272 hitting percentage. She also added 10 total blocks.
>> Senior Jess Marut had 55 digs and 12 assists on the weekend. Marut is fifth in the PSAC and 35th in Division II with 5.43 digs per set.
>> Sophomore Jessica Raudys had 9.0 total blocks on the weekend, giving her 28.0 on the season which is second on the team behind Ignace (29.0).
