OBERLIN, Ohio – IUP women's tennis saw all seven players advance to the second round as the Crimson Hawks competed in the first day of the 10th annual Oberlin Invitational.
It's the first competition of the fall season for IUP.

DAY 1 DOUBLES RESULTS
Four singles players advanced after opening round wins, including
Katya Minchenkova,
Julia Newman,
Flavia Flandoli, and newcomer
Laura Dunarova.
Minchenkova went three sets with Case Western Reserve's Mira Amin, rallying for a 4-6, 6-2, 10-4 win. Dunarova fought through a 7-5, 6-3 win over Chloe Riley of West Liberty, while Newman and Flandoli won by scores of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-1, respectively, over opponents from John Carroll.
Newman was also part of a first round doubles win, pairing with
Thais Andreotti for an 8-6 win over Madeleine Paolucci and Jessica Liu of Case Western Reserve.
Maria Magraner and
Mariana Valenzuela defeated West Liberty's Laura Huwe and Carleyah McLean 8-4.
